What Appraise does

Appraise for Dealers is a used-car appraisal app for dealerships across Canada, built in Canada. It answers one question fast: what is the most I can pay for this car and still make my money? Start from a VIN and finish with a max buy, with every step of the math visible. It runs on iPhone, Android and the web, and every dealership can try it free for 14 days.

It has three tools. Each works on its own, and when you use them on the same VIN the results stack on one car.

Scan: OBD-II

Plug a Bluetooth reader into the diagnostic port under the dash and tap Scan. Appraise reads stored, pending and permanent trouble codes and explains each in plain English.

Codes cleared recently: flags that show kilometres and warm-up cycles since the last clear, and which readiness monitors are not ready. A seller who cleared codes right before you arrived can no longer hide it.
Repair estimates from book labour hours multiplied by your own labour rate.
Works on 1996 and newer vehicles. Generic OBD-II reads powertrain (engine and emissions) codes, not airbag, ABS or body modules.

Inspect: photos

Walk around the car taking guided photos. The AI flags things a person should check: panel gaps, paint mismatch, tire wear, glass damage, interior wear. You accept, edit or dismiss each finding, and the recon cost comes from your own rates.

Flags, not an inspection. AI findings are prompts for a human to review. They are not a mechanical inspection.

Value: max buy

Enter or scan the VIN and the kilometres. Appraise decodes the vehicle and prices it against real listings near your dealership.

Each value shows how many comparable cars it used and a confidence label. Values are estimates and a starting point for your judgement. They are not a guaranteed price.

After the appraisal

Inventory: add the car with one tap. See days in stock, money tied up and expected profit per unit, and how its price compares with similar cars nearby.
Invoices: snap an invoice or bill of sale. Line items, GST, PST or HST and totals are read for you and checked before saving.
Alerts: know when a car you appraised is listed for sale, or when a cheaper competitor appears near one of yours.
Send for bids: text photos and a clean write-up to your wholesalers from your own phone. Your internal numbers stay private.

Your team and your rates

Invite appraisers and managers. Appraisals are shared across the dealership. Labour rate, recon costs, fees and target profit are set once and apply to everyone, so two appraisers looking at the same car reach the same number.

Devices and readers

One account works on iPhone, Android and the web. Scanning needs a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) reader such as the OBDLink CX, Vgate iCar Pro BLE or vLinker BLE. iPhones cannot connect to classic Bluetooth ELM327 readers. On a laptop, scanning works in Chrome. Value and Inspect need no reader at all.

What it is not

Appraise is a decision aid. It does not replace a mechanical inspection, a vehicle history report or your own judgement, and it does not guarantee a resale price.
